Kompressor is the name of a high-end Mercedes automobile line. But if you search for Kompressor on the Web, you’ll find that Mercedes has been crushed by Kompressor, the German electronica artist from Ohio.

According to the Kompressor interview at Synthtopia:

Kompressor makes music that is a strange blend of industrial electronics, children song lyrics, and even rap. If Kraftwerk, Chris and Cosey, and the Childrens Television Workshop got together to make music, it might sound something like Kompressor. Or it might not.

According to the Kompressor site, he was born in Bremen, Germany and “come to united states of america for computerprogram job. now dedicated to crushing america with industrial might”. His instruments are “synth, crush, fear and death”.

You can download some crushing Kompressor MP3s at his site, including Der Todensynthesizer, a track about going to a music store, beating the salesman with a synthesizer and then stealing it.

Unfortunately, from Kompressor’s site, it looks like his days of crushing may be over.
