This summer, kids have an alternative to getting sunburned, dehydrated, bitten by chiggers and generally humiliated by the other kids at camp.

Apple Camp promises to let kids geek out, making music on a Mac. Workshops are geared towards kids with intermediate computer skills.

Other camps are available about making movies, podcasts or websites on Macs. The “Camps” are free, but require registration.

All campers will receive a t-shirt, patch, field journal, field guide, bumper sticker, name tag, and a certificate of achievement. Our guess is that kids will also learn how easy it is to do stuff the Mac way, and maybe learn that they need a new MacBook, too.

Sounds like a fair enough deal, though, and could be a fun way to get kids excited about making videos, podcasts and other personal media.
