Mac Laptop Explodes into Flames
Apple fans take note: you’ve been warned about the way Mac laptops can burn your crotch. Not only can they cook your eggs, but laptops from Apple and other manufacturers can explode in flames.
Nick Brown, 11, was playing on his Apple iBook laptop about one month ago when he got distracted and left the room.
His mom, Cindy Brown, explains what happened next. “My husband and I were in the other room, heard a popping noise, came out and the room was filled with smoke,” she said. Heat from the laptop, which was lying on the floor, had started melting the carpet. The Browns quickly carried it outside.
Pictures show flames shooting from the lower right hand corner of the laptop. The area around the lower right side was blackened by burns.
“It was five minutes and (the computer) was in flames,” Cindy Brown said. “The computer burst into flames. It doesn’t seem real that you would have a fire in a computer. We all could have died, and the house could have burned down.”
Laptops do sometimes burst into flames. There are at least 43 reported incidents in the last two years. In 2004 and 2005, Apple, Dell and Hewlett Packard collectively recalled more than 300,000 laptop batteries “due to fire hazards.”
The Browns’ case is now under investigation by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

This is bullshit, Apple computers can’t do that!
Another publication of this hoax? It’s really sad that someone would believe this tripe.
Why are some Mac heads such idiots?
Laptops can explode and Macs are no different. Just hope you don’t fry your nads!
Is this picture suppose to be the computer in question? If so, did they run it outside with the A/C adapter still attached?
I don’t believe it. They said after they saw it on fire, they carried it outside. But if you look at the pic, the iBook is still plugged in. Doesn’t make sense that they would plug it back in.
Do you think that maybe the user unplugged the laptop from the wall and ran it outside because, hmmmmmm, IT WAS ON FIRE?
These things run really hot. There was a story about a Dell computer exploding in flames in Japan someplace, too.

A computer CPU (Processor) wether it’s an IBM, Intel, or AMD; usually works at very high tempereatures. The cooling system; which consists of coolers; aluminium $ copper sheets; etc; makes the procesor tu run at a “normal temperature” (70

Looks like you’re full of it. Mac laptops are made of plastic . Maybe they look cool, but who cares if they explode.
Maybe next time you should get a real computer instead of a plastic toy.
Yeah, this just proves that no computer is perfect. Laptops are a far cry from being as good as a desktop. A lot of different computer companies have fallen victim to bad batteries. It’s just pretty funny that this would FINALLY happen to a Mac. It’s about time they see that they’re not perfect in every way like most of them think they are. And just for the record, Mac users get on my nerves — they always seem to get stuck up and full of themselves.
Give Mac users a break –
In the mythical land of the blind, there was one man who claimed to be able to see. He was cast out for fear of being delusional and potentially dangerous.
Mac users prefer to stay blind to themselves as it is a nice safe zone for them. Don’t freak them out with reality man!
