iPlayMusicAt the NAMM Summer Session, held July 14-16th in Austin, Texas, iPlayMusic was showing their guitar tutorial video system.

The system looks like it would be ideal for computer-savvy people interested in learning guitar. You can play the videos on your computer, and there are tutorials on basics like common chords.

A very cool feature is that you can export the videos to iTunes and sync them to video iPods. This lets you take the guitar lessons with you anywhere, which seems like it would be a lot less hassle than having to go to the computer and run the software to view the lessons.

The software is $49.95, which isn’t bad when you consider the number of lessons. A special version is available for learning childrens songs for sing-alongs, too.

iPlayMusic has published several of the videos as a video podcast, available from their site. Here’s an example:
