Edinburgh Music FestivalThe Stage, a UK trade publication for the entertainment world has partnered with The Podcast Network to bring the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Festival, one of the world’s largest music and arts festivals, to podcast listeners around the world.

The Edinburgh Fringe Festival features 28,014 performances of 1,867 shows in 261 venues, and features an estimated 16,990 performers.

The podcast is freely available to anyone with an internet connection. New editions of the show will be available to listen to on both The Stage’s and The Podcast Network’s websites and also by saving the MP3 file to your computer, or subscribing to the show.

“Podcasting has the ability to reach out to people with very specific interests, something that The Stage has been doing for the performing arts community since 1880,” points out Scott Matthewman, Assistant Editor of The Stage. “The daily podcast is the perfect complement to our print and web coverage of this year’s fringe, and we’re delighted that we’ve been able to team up with the specialists at The Podcast Network for our first venture into this field.”

“Last year, the Edinburgh Fringe Podcast reached around the world, bringing the largest arts festival to audiences far in excess of any single stage in Scotland’s capital city,” points out Ewan Spence, Executive Producer at The Podcast Network. “I’m over the moon that The Stage has come on board with the Podcast. The Stage has a long tradition of being the bible for the performing arts world in the UK. With their support, the show will be able to feature more guests, news, interviews and content from around Edinburgh.”
