Pick any time in the history of personal computing and you will never find an instance where Macs were TWICE the price of a PC. I ask again, have you ever really compared the prices? Go ahead and buy a $600 PC laptop tomorrow and try to load Vista on it - You'll be lucky if you can get Word to open before it slows to a crawl.

I don't need to upgrade when the computer works like a charm out of the box and runs perfectly for years because my OS isn't being packed full of bloated patches and updates every 15 minutes.

I'd rather have 2 choices of peripherals that I know will work rather than 8 choices - 2 of which will never work, 5 of which will take 3 hours of troubleshooting and driver downloads to get running.

Why should I mind buying the components Apple thinks should be in their computers? They have TESTED THEM to make sure they work properly together - Microsoft clearly sees the paying customer as their beta tester.

I whole-heartedly agree that Steve Jobs is probably a royal SOB, and I wouldn't want to work for him, but if Macs are so terrible, why is the entire music and computer industry eating Apple's dust? It's entirely possible you've had a great computing experience with a PC running Windows, but you would be in a distinct minority.

Gergenator

Sounds like you don't mind paying twice as much to get hardware that you can't upgrade, doesn't have as many peripherals, and locks you into what Apple thinks you should buy.

Your right about PCs having 1000 crappy games that Macs don't have. But they also have 1,000 good games that Macs don't have, too.

I'm no Gates fan, but it's starting to look like Jobs is even more of a jerk than he is.

You've got to be kidding me. Have you ever used a Mac? Have you ever priced a Mac? Less reliable and more upgrades??? I've been using Macs for 15+ years and have never had a siginificant problem with the hardware or OS. Last year, I gave away my circa 1991 Mac Classic that still ran without a hitch. When I get together with my family who all use Windoze boxes, they trade horror stories about all of the hardware and software problems they have on their PeeCees. The only disadvantage of owning a Mac is not having 1,000 crappy game titles to choose from. Personally, I don't care if Steve Jobs is a jerk (so is Gates). What matters is that his company makes a product that is powerful, elegant and easy-to-use. What a concept.

It looks like people are starting to figure out what an a$$hole Steve Jobs is.

Mac users are going to wake up and figure out they've been paying twice as much as PC buyers for hardware that's not reliable, and software that you have to upgrade four times as often as Windows.

Get a clue!
