Luckily, Tod E. Kurt thinks different.
Kurt has created RoombaMidi, a Mac OS X application that creates turns the iRobot Roomba roboti vacuum into a MIDI instrument for use by any Mac OS X MIDI sequencer, like Ableton Live, Logic, and others. It can even be played directly from a MIDI keyboard.

This summer, kids have an alternative to getting sunburned, dehydrated, bitten by chiggers and generally humiliated by the other kids at camp.
Apple Camp promises to let kids geek out, making music on a Mac. Workshops are geared towards kids with intermediate computer skills.
Other camps are available about making movies, podcasts or websites on Macs. The “Camps” are free, but require registration.
