Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Sony Pictures have announced that Chris Cornell, the singer/songwriter behind Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple of the Dog, has written, in collaboration with Bond composer David Arnold, and will perform the them song, You Know My Name, to the next James Bond film, Casino Royale.
The film will premier Daniel Craig as the new 007, and will be released by Columbia Pictures on November 17, 2006.
Yes, You Know My Name is a lame title for a James Bond theme, because it doesn’t have “live”, “die” or “kill” in the title. At least Cornell doesn’t have to try to rock while crooning “Casino Royale”.

Director Todd Haynes is looking for seven actors to play Bob Dylan during different eras in his career, starting with the 1960s when his song, The Times They Are Changin became an anti-war anthem.
Apparently, Beyonce Knowles is on the shortlist to play Dylan.
Knowles is one of several black female stars being considered to play Dylan in a biopic of his life after the director, Todd Haynes, announced he was searching for a woman to do justice to the white Jewish singer’s “inner blackness”.
Haynes obviously has an imagination. When you look at Beyonce, Bob Dylan is not the first thing that comes to mind.
According to Haynes “I am setting out to explode the idea that anybody can be depicted in a single self.”
If Knowles gets the part, we may soon get to see Bob Dylan’s bootilicious self depicted onscreen.
Ewwwwww.
