A&P has unceremoniously sacked brothers Mark and Matthew D’Avella for using the company facilities to film a faux-gangsta rap video, Produce Paradise:

The brothers were canned over “inappropriate acts”, which presumably includes filming a gangsta rap video on company property, urinating on the produce and dropping your pants at work.

A&P is suing the brothers for one million dollars. In a statement, A&P spokesman Richard De Santa said, “Producing a video that intentionally and unjustly depicts our company in a negative light, and utilizing company facilities without management knowledge of the specific content involved, is obviously a blatant violation of our policy.”

This strange axe-to-mouth video may be too extreme for some viewers….

It’s slide guitarist Hannes Coetzee playing in the jungle in South Africa. Hannes Coetzee is an aloe tapper and self-taught musician from Herbertsdale in the Klein Karoo. He plays traditional and original compositions using a teaspoon in his mouth to slide the melody on his guitar.

The only known practioner of this style, he is able to play the melody and the accompanying chords at the same time, creating the sound of two guitars with one hand.

Alanis Morissette has published an alternative version of the Black-Eyed Peas song My Humps that can only be called scathing.

Morissette slows the track down to piano-ballad speed, showcasing the inanity of the song that Slate has called “a stunning assemblage of awful ideas.”

“What you gon’ do with all that ass
All that ass inside them jeans?
What you gon’ do wit all that breast?
All that breast inside that shirt?”

It’s Morissette’s best work since 95’s You Oughta Know.

It’s Friday, and you know what that means at Axehole - sex, drugs, rock and roll and maybe even some Jesus and air guitar.

This music video, by Poland’s Baby Twins, is inexplicably one of the top videos at several video sites.

It’s got horrible music, weak vocals and cheesy keyboards that sound like they might have come from an old Casio. And the Baby Twins don’t seem to have much of a sense of rhythm.

It does have hot busty blonde twins, though, which appears to be enough to make it in the world of music these days.

It looks like Ford wants to be the MTV of the Internet. The company has launched a new video podcast, Edge Music Videocast, that features music videos from Cat Power, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Wolfmother and Gomez (sample below).

The video podcast is basically a collection of four music videos, with short “Ford Edge” branding segments linking them together. Ford believes the new offering is the first sponsored video podcast of mainstream music videos.

“We expect more customers to look at the Edge, but what we are really trying to do is create a community of users that is interested in the Edge and the music,” says Dave Sanabria, SUV marketing communications manager for Ford.
In the next couple of years, video podcasts will explode just the way audio podcasts did, says Sanabria, and Ford wants to be at the forefront of the industry.

“It’s the first time consumers will be able to download videos for free. A television ad is only 30 seconds, but the video will be 15 minutes,” adds Sanabria. “It’s more time to engage our audience and show them the all-new Edge.”
